The Phoenix Requiem is Sarah Ellerton's online graphic novel that takes place somewhere in Europe. The graphic novel takes on many themes, including romance, betrayal, and the ever foreboding shadow of death cast upon much of the story.
The story of The Phoenix Requiem kicks off with a man (Jonas Faulkner) suffering from a gun shot wound wandering through the freezing forest just beyond the town of Esk. Fortune grants him clemency when two young children mistakenly find him laying in the snow and seek adults for help. He is naturally taken to the town's nurse (who is actually still in training), Anya Katsukova. Anya fixes him up as best as she can without the aid of Doctor Blythe, who is out of town at the time Jonas arrives to Esk. However, after Jonas' arrival, weird things start happening in Esk. A mysterious, uncurable plague falls upon the small town and spirits begin to take a more solid form in the dead of the night.
In spite of the strange happenings occuring and the mixed reaction that the public has taken to Jonas, he has decided to become a more permanent resident to Esk, drawing friend, foe and fiend alike to his presence.
